Lake Austin 360 Bridge  

Experience this 0.5-mile out-and-back trail near Austin, Texas. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 11 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas.

Caprock Canyons Trailway

Situated in northern Texas, Caprock Canyons State Park & Trailway boasts miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. These trails take you through a hilly desert landscape and range from easy to hard. The park also has a lake that is ideal for boating, fishing, and swimming.

Catamount Falls via Thomas Trail

Discover this 6.5-mile out-and-back trail near Woodland Park, Colorado. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 53 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are May through October. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Situated just south of Colorado Springs, Cheyenne Mountain State Park is Colorado's newest state park. Outdoor adventurers flock to this beautiful park for the miles of trails, well-maintained campsites, and top-notch environmental programs. This park is a must-visit so come check it out!

Discovery Park & West Point Lighthouse

Discovery Park is a 534 acre natural area park, located next to the peninsular Magnolia neighborhood in Seattle, and overlooking Puget Sound, with views of the Cascade and Olympic mountains. The park is built on the historic grounds of Fort Lawton, which was originally a Confederate prisoner-of-war camp during the Civil War. The park includes two miles of protected tidal beaches, a lighthouse, open meadow lands, dramatic sea cliffs, forest groves, active sand dunes, thickets, and streams.

Explore this 1.1-mile loop trail near Joyce, Washington. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 24 min to complete. This is a very popular area for camping, hiking, and walking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. You'll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren't allowed on this trail.

Kawuneeche Valley & Tonahutu Trail

Granite Falls is located along Tonahutu Creek, the creek that winds through the bottom of Big Meadow. This route begins at the Visitor Center outside of Grand Lake. You'll take the Kawuneeche to Tonahutu Trail, turning onto the Tonahutu Creek Trail after a short distance. You'll follow this trail past several backcountry campsites to Big Meadow and Granite Falls. This makes for a great backpacking trip or a day trip to the falls and back.

Head out on this 14.7-mile point-to-point trail near Caddo Gap, Arkansas. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 5 h 32 min to complete. This is a popular trail for backpacking, camping, and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Oneonta Gorge

The Oneonta Gorge is a scenic hiking destination and botanical area in the Columbia River Gorge area on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon. Be prepared to navigate through logs, climb through rocks and wade in cold water as users follow along Oneonta Creek through the gorge. The views at the end are breathtaking, and the challenge makes the hike worth it. Ecology enthusiasts will also enjoy the variety of aquatic and woodland plants.

Silver Falls State

Silver Falls State Park, located about 20 miles from Salem, is the most popular state park in all of Oregon. Whether you are coming to visit the the famous 177-foot South Falls, hike the Trail of Ten Falls, or relax by the picnic shelters, this park has something to offer for everyone. The Trail of Ten Falls takes visitors along Silver Creek and passes ten beautiful waterfalls ranging in height from 27 feet to 178 feet. Those looking to stay overnight can rent a campsite or stay at the Silver Falls Lodge. In addition to the extensive network of hiking trails, the park also offers several options for mountain bikers and horseback riders.
